ELEGOO has launched the M1 Ultra, its first all-in-one smart 3D scanner, moving the Chinese 3D printing brand into a new product category. The scanner went on sale on October 29, 2026, at a retail price of USD 1,699, with early-bird pricing of USD 1,599 available through November 12.
The company positions the M1 Ultra for professional work in customization, reverse engineering, education, digital archiving and other creative projects. ELEGOO describes the device as combining precision, versatility and workflow efficiency in one integrated system, with the aim of making advanced 3D scanning more accessible.
Capture hardware and accuracy
ELEGOO says the M1 Ultra delivers blue-laser scanning accuracy of up to 0.02 mm and volumetric accuracy of 0.02 mm plus 0.06 mm per meter. The company describes this level of precision as metrology-grade. The scanner uses an all-glass optical system, intelligent temperature compensation and high-precision camera calibration. Global-shutter cameras are intended to reduce motion blur and distortion during scanning.
The device also captures colour. It offers 24-bit full-colour texture mapping with image signal processing optimization, allowing users to record an object’s geometry and its visual appearance. ELEGOO says the M1 Ultra can scan black and metallic surfaces without coating powder, which it says provides greater flexibility across materials and environments.
Five scanning modes
The M1 Ultra includes five modes for different objects and tasks:
- A 34-line blue laser mode for medium-to-large objects.
- A 7-line blue laser mode for fine details on small-to-medium parts.
- A single-line blue laser mode for deep holes, narrow gaps and hard-to-reach areas.
- An infrared structured light mode for face, body and object scanning.
- A marker-free blue laser mode for surfaces where applying markers is not practical.
The scanner supports objects from 5 × 5 × 5 mm³ to 4,000 × 4,000 × 4,000 mm³, covering very small parts and large projects.
Portable operation and software
ELEGOO designed the M1 Ultra for use across different environments. A 3-inch HD touchscreen allows operation on the device, and Wi-Fi 6 supports wireless scanning. The 4,800 mAh swappable battery provides up to 1.5 hours of wireless scanning, while the handheld body is described as lightweight and ergonomic.
The scanner works with ELEGOO SCAN software, which guides setup, assists tracking and supports multi-scan alignment. Automated one-click processing handles mesh wrapping, mesh optimization and colour mapping. Scan data can be exported in STL, OBJ, PLY and ASC formats for compatible third-party software and downstream design, modelling and manufacturing workflows.
Broader market context
The M1 Ultra extends ELEGOO’s product ecosystem into 3D scanning. Kevin Wang, co-founder and vice president of ELEGOO, said the launch is an important step in expanding the company’s 3D creation ecosystem and connecting the physical and digital worlds.
Other consumer 3D printing brands are also building out scanning. Creality introduced the Pika 3D scanner at IFA 2026 in Berlin as part of a wider lineup. The Pika uses a seven-line blue laser and near-infrared scanning in a 260 g body, with accuracy to 0.03 mm and scan speeds up to 110 fps. Revopoint’s Trackit SR wireless scanner offers marker-free optical tracking metrology with single-frame accuracy of 0.02 mm and three scanning modes, including a Deep Hole Mode. 3DMakerpro’s Toucan is an all-in-one scanner that lets users scan, edit and fuse complete 3D models without a computer.
ELEGOO’s standard retail prices are USD 1,699, EUR 1,699, GBP 1,399, CAD 2,399 and JPY 299,999. Early-bird prices through November 12 are USD 1,599, EUR 1,599, GBP 1,319, CAD 2,299 and JPY 284,999.
