Aggreko has launched three Tier 4 Final diesel generators configured for remote Canadian work sites. The units are available at 145 kW, 210 kW and 1200 kW capacities, all at 600V, and are offered exclusively to Canadian contractors, according to the company. The models are the newest additions to Aggreko's Canadian generator portfolio.

All three models are CSA and UN31A compliant, Aggreko says, meeting Canadian electrical and fuel regulations. The manufacturer describes the generators as combining its latest technology with hardware tailored to Canadian market and regulatory requirements, providing low-emission power for commercial and industrial applications. The company says the units are designed to meet and exceed local market needs and requirements.

Onboard 600V output on the largest unit

The 1200 kW model includes onboard 600V capability. Aggreko says this eliminates the need for additional step-up transformers when 600V power is required. The direct output is intended to reduce project complexity, improve cost-efficiency and limit potential points of failure. Those advantages are most relevant to large industrial loads where 600V is often needed, the company says.

Canopy units and fleet range

The 145 kW and 210 kW models are canopy units intended for immediate deployment. The 1200 kW unit is positioned for large industrial loads. Aggreko says the new models strengthen its Canadian fleet, which spans 25 kW to 1200 kW. Through its Canadian service centres, the company says its energy experts will work with customers in data centres, construction, oil and gas, mining and events to deploy temporary power.

Remote industries and data-centre demand

Paul Nascimento, Aggreko's managing director for Canada, said the country's large petrochemical and mining industries need power across vast and remote territories, while construction and data-centre sectors are also growing. He said Canada has clear demand for engineered energy solutions that are powerful and precisely configured, and that the Canadian Tier 4 Final generators are intended to meet it.

Aggreko also points to provincial regulators' efforts to limit how much power data-centre operators draw from the grid. The company says its Tier 4 Final generators can supply off-grid energy to keep data centres operating while minimising disruption to communities. Aggreko describes all three models as offering strong fuel efficiency, ultra-low emissions and significantly controlled noise levels that surpass local requirements. These performance descriptions are the manufacturer's claims.

The generators are aimed at temporary power applications across data centres, construction, oil and gas, mining and events. Aggreko says its Canadian service centres will support deployment, and the equipment is intended for remote sites and off-grid power needs. The 1200 kW model's direct 600V output is particularly relevant where large industrial loads require that voltage, the company says. The company says the generators are configured around Canadian operating conditions and regulations.
